# About Street Highlighter

> Parcel-based mapping for Firewise / Fire Safe groups, HOAs, real estate teams, and neighborhood crews.

Street Highlighter is a **signed-in web application**. Teams organize addresses into PODs (or custom labels), map streets and parcels, import Firewise data, track per-address progress, draw evacuation routes, export maps, and optionally message opted-in contacts.

## Who it is for

- **Firewise & Fire Safe Councils** — POD maps, Zone zero / hardening fields, Firewise parcel layers, evacuation routes, readiness dashboards
- **HOAs & neighborhood associations** — street/district groups, board leads, volunteer workdays, completion tracking
- **Real estate & property teams** — portfolio or listing parcels with contacts, notes, custom fields
- **Other parcel-based crews** — anyone assigning leads or logging progress address by address

## Capabilities

- Colored POD groups with leaders; rename “POD” under community settings
- Street centerline highlights and assessor parcel outlines
- Map View: streets, parcels, Firewise communities (official-boundary membership), all Firewise in view, fire protection districts, wildfire risk, evacuation routes
- Map edits: search or click-to-identify **Add as community parcel**; Shift+click Firewise labels to add; Shift+click POD parcels to remove from the address table; temporary Show hidden for other lots
- County assessor fields (acres, fire/water district, zoning, responsibility area, evacuation zone) when the lot is known
- Saved map views, PNG/PDF export, public share links without resident contacts
- Optional DialMyCalls SMS (bring-your-own credentials)

## Privacy & security

- Community data is private unless a user is invited
- Sign-in via Clerk; Postgres with TLS; DialMyCalls keys encrypted at rest; Stripe handles cards
- Public share links never include names, emails, or phones (and are noindex)
- Crawlers should use this page, Pricing, and [/llms.txt](https://www.streethighlighter.com/llms.txt) — not signed-in app or tokenized URLs
